Finding The One...

Writer's picture: Kelly LiebermanKelly Lieberman

The key is to overlook the trivial stuff and look for the silver lining instead. Chemistry and physical attributes alone are not enough to build a long-term relationship. Create a life of your own that is filled with unique activities and passions that reflect interesting nuances of you. Have fulfilling relationships outside your desire for a partner. Your friends and your family should be constants in your life. They should not be dispensable the minute you find someone to date. Trust me: interesting, desirable people rarely fall for, or stay interested in a partner whose life is a vacuum. Meanwhile, ignore most of the superficial traits and concentrate on the important qualities of character that you are looking for in a partner and you are much more likely to have an enduring, epic, legendary love. Think of it like a “treasure hunt” and be open to a soul mate showing up in various disguises.
